Fashion Friday The Best in Casual Style

Fashion Friday is finally here. Now is your chance to let loose and channel your inner fashionista. Our first lesson (https://myfashionforwardblog.wordpress.com/2012/09/28/defining-casual-friday-with-style/ ) was exploring the rules behind the definition of Casual Friday. The lesson this week is mixing patterns with ease. Mixing patterns gives you an opportunity to add interest an attention to an otherwise bland ensemble. First, think about your color scheme and finding a single color that will be a common thread in both patterns. In the outfit featured below our common color is the black in the zebra print shirt and the black in the zebra print scarf. Then, find a color that will add flair. In this case the flair comes from the red scarf. Black and red are a natural pairing and exude classic style. Finally, think about scale. Both prints are small enough that they do not compete for attention but large enough to be seen from afar. We finish the outfit off with a silver metallic belt and a tailored trouser jean. The metallic belt shows that you are in touch with the trends of the season and the trouser jean screams professionalism.

Casual Friday is your time to break out a rut and turn loose of your current dress code with abandon. Use this opportunity to put your best professional foot forward by showing off your inner fashionista.
